Welcome to RPI Parking and Transportation!
The Office of Parking and Transportation provides the Rensselaer campus with well-maintained, well-lit, and well-patrolled parking lots and a garage facility, all of which have nearby emergency call boxes. For added safety and convenience, we also provide continuous Red Hawk shuttle services on and around campus including an on-call shuttle to and from RPI’s downtown Troy locations. The shuttle system is an important component of Rensselaer’s personal safety program.
The Public Safety & Parking Access Offices building houses the office of Parking and Transportation. We welcome visitors and guests to the campus. In conjunction with the Department of Public Safety and the city of Troy, the office of Parking and Transportation is dedicated to providing a safe and friendly campus environment.
Access to the gated campus and parking is available using a transponder that has been programmed to open specific parking lot and campus gates. Temporary transponders are available for guests and visitors at the Parking Office during regular hours of operation and after hours from the Public Safety dispatcher.
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding RPI staff holidays.
